Do you find yourself repeating the same emotional and relational patterns despite your best intentions and efforts to change? Are you yearning to be more fully alive in the present and less encumbered by past baggage or anxieties about the future?

The pace and demands of life in the 21st century, coupled with widespread experiences of loneliness in Western cultures, leave many of us feeling harried, disconnected, and longing for more time, energy, and peace of mind. Even when life circumstances are treating us favorably, it can be difficult to create space in our world for reflection, vulnerable conversations, and meaning making. Sometimes, suffering forces us to pause and re-evaluate areas of our life that have not been working and examine aspects of our personal histories that we would rather avoid thinking about. And yet, these unwelcomed truths keep beckoning until we risk opening the door to listen and attend to what they are trying to tell us. It is at this juncture that we may find ourselves in need of a wise and compassionate guide on the journey of self-understanding and growth.

I believe that psychotherapy can give us the courage to shed self-defeating emotional and relational patterns and allow us to experience more contentment and hopefulness. I welcome the opportunity to partner with you in this process. If you would like to consider whether I might be a good fit for your needs, please feel free to contact me for an initial consultation.

The relationship between the therapist and the patient serves as a “playground” where new bits of self-awareness and experimentation with new ways of being and relating can emerge.
